Abstract
At the height of the current debates surrounding the technological revolution, research in the sciences and social and economic change, there is room for a dispute on ethics concerning values and axiological options. This article contributes to the research in this particular field and demonstrates that the proposition of Marx — namely the primate of praxis on theory — can still be valid today for ethical reasons. Following the principles of Gramsci in the field of ethics, the author considers this development under the specific heading of “intellectual and moral reformation”. He then analyses and confronts it — as its antithesis — with the moral doctrine of the Catholic Church.
