Abstract
Les trois contributions de Pollack, Woodhead et Lamine proposent, chacune à leur manière, un état des lieux original sur la question: Pollack présente et confronte la théorie de l'individualisation à la théorie du marché et de la sécularisation. Woodhead, quant à elle, propose une théorie de la sécularisation basée sur une perspective de genre et Lamine, enfin, se focalise sur les complexités de la micro-croyance. L'auteur évalue les points forts et les points faibles de ces trois approches. De façon intéressante, on peut regarder ces trois auteurs comme des représentants de trois paradigmes très différents (et partiellement en conflit) sur le religieux et la sécularisation. L'auteur ouvre, en conclusion, une discussion sur une possible compatibilité et intégration de ces paradigmes entre eux.
The three papers by Pollack, Woodhead and Lamine each make an original contribution to the state of the art: Pollack introduces and tests individualization theory against secularization and market theory; Woodhead suggests a ``gendered'' secularization theory and Lamine points to the complexities of micro-believing. The author assesses strengths and weaknesses of these approaches. Interestingly, the three authors may be seen as representing three very different and partially conflicting paradigms of thinking about religion and secularization in modern societies. The author discusses the possibilities of integrating the paradigms.
