The public-private distinction forces us to confront the difficulty of analysing representations. These vary with the circumstances and the actors involved. The three articles discussed in this report clearly show the fragility of a dichotomy which belongs to political or philosophical debates. But these articles also allow us to think about new ways of considering the approach to religion in late modernity.

La distinction public-privé nous renvoie au problème délicat de l'analyse des représentations. Or celles-ci fluctuent en fonction des circonstances et des acteurs concernés. Les trois communications abordées dans ce rapport font bien ressortir la fragilité d'une dichotomie qui appartient au débat politique ou philosophique. Elles permettent aussi d'envisager un renouvellement de l'approche de la religion en modernité tardive.
