Abstract
This article deals with the complexity of the links between the new Christian movements and modernity, using three churches as examples: the Unification Church, the Providence Church, and the Full Gospel Church. She demonstrates the close links between religion and politics in the context of South Korea's struggle against the communism of its neighbour North Korea.
