This article provides guidance for analysts and software developers on how to adapt their exist ing simulations to support the High-Level Architecture (HLA). The first section of the article discusses how to plan for HLA by pro viding strategies that can be used in developing an object model for an existing simulation. The second section discusses modular software de sign techniques for adapting a simulation for HLA with the goal of maximizing interoper ability.
