Abstract
Herewith our edited version of material which appeared in OPTIONS, published by the International Institute forApplied Systems Analysis, Laxenburg, Austria. The articles concern work by participants in IIASA's Young Scientists' Summer Program on problems of river water quality management. The research built on, and contributed to, an ongoing study by IIASA's Water Resources project on Water Quality Management of Degraded River Basins in Central and Eastern Europe. - JM
