Abstract
Most simulation program generators expect the simulator to amend the generated program whenever complex requirements are met. This can be extremely time consuming and tedious if the original model specification has to be modified since all the edits are likely to have to be repeated. The Pascal based generator described in this article was developed alongside the main simulation program so that all complex requirements can be specified by including embedded code in the model specification. The system operates at differing levels of complexity so that for straight forward simulations it behaves as a standard generator, and as complications are needed they can be included in a natural way. The system has been found to be very effective both in a teaching environment and in solving practical problems.
