Abstract
A simulation model of an integrated energy system can help a consumer decide whether to purchase a new sys tem for generating electricity, and what the size of its components should be. In the present study, the system consists of a liquid-metal magnetohydrodynamic (LMMHD) converter, parabolic sun collectors, and a heat storage unit. The system is in the final stages of development at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. The consumer in this study is a typical Israeli col lective farm (kibbutz). The consumer's aim is to reduce the expected discounted unit cost of electricity.
