Abstract
Roy Crosbie first became involved with simulation in 1957 when, as a senior at the University of Liverpool in England, he designed "a 4-amplifier, 8-tube super computer. " In spite of that, he says, he was awarded his BEng degree and went on to use "bigger and better analog computers" in his PhD research on nuclear reactors. After a stint with Marconi, Roy returned to academia in 1963, this time with the Royal College of Advanced Technology - now the University of Salford. We in simulation, and especially in SCS., are indebted to Roy for his work in putting together the United Kingdom Simulation Council in 1968 and for continuing to contribute his valuable talents ever since. Besides being a founding member of the UKSC, Roy has served since its inception as -either secretary or chairman. He has also been a frequent contributor to Simulation.
