Abstract
The simulation of such complex digital systems as com puters, industrial controllers, and communications net works has become an area of increasing importance. Micro programming not only is a method for simulating such sys tems but may also aid in their development and upgrading. The advent of low-cost high-speed memories and micro processors has greatly simplified the use of microprogram- ming and extended range ofapplications. This article will describe the purpose, history, and uses of this new simula tion method.
