This paper discusses a modified version of Merson's integration algorithm which can save two evaluations of the system at each step. For a complex system the saving in computing time may come to 40%.
If you now use the ordinary Merson algorithm, you will find it easy to switch to the modified algorithm. The flow chart appended to this paper shows that switching to the modified algorithm involves adding on four blocks to Merson's method.
