Abstract
An all-electronic crossbar switch consisting of FET series-shunt switches inside the feedback loops of operational amplifiers was designed and constructed. Time-shared solution of five different differential equations was obtained by using four integrators on ASTRAC II, with a new solution being generated 25C times per second.
Crossbar switches for automatic patching
Studies of practical automatic patching schemes for electronic analog computers indicate that it will be economical to employ sets of relatively simple crossbar switches somewhat in the manner of tele phone exchanges. This report describes the con struction and test of a small all-solid-state cross bar switch which permits very fast switching for analog-computer time-sharing, is suitable for integrated-circuit construction, and should be much more reliable than the relay instrumentation sug gested in Reference 1.
