Pseudo-random sequences with limited frequency con tent are often required in digital computing for the simu lation of various random processes. Such sequences can be generated by passing white noise samples through a digital filter. A family of filtering functions that par ticularly lends itself to this application is discussed, and a simple algorithm for producing the resultant time series is presented along with an example.
