A standard approach in programming an analog computer is to define a linear relationship between the independent problem variable and real time, i.e., computer time. This approach is not always necessary, as illustrated by the ex amples presented here. Quite often, an alternate approach utilizing a parametric technique is more convenient and makes it easier to obtain function values near singular points and points at which a function is indeterminate.
