The frequency response of the platinum-catalyzed sulphur dioxide oxidation system was simulated for four alterna tive rate expressions suggested in the literature for the chemical kinetics in a nonflow stirred reactor. By compar ing the results of MIDAS digital simulation with experi mentally obtained frequency responses, it was established that the dynamic behavior of this reaction system is not affected significantly by the proposed reaction mecha nisms.
