Abstract
Dr Francis Adams practised medicine in Banchory from 1819–1861. At that time there was no translation in English of the classic medical literature of the Greeks, Romans and Arabians. Almost entirely self-taught, and in spite of the demands of a large scattered practice, Dr Adams found time to remedy this deficiency.
