The method in routine use in this laboratory for measurement of tissue activator is described and the potential value of tissue activator assays compared with plasma activator assays is discussed. Tissue activator binds well to fibrin in the slide technique and produces well demarcated zones of lysis. The results of duplicate assay make this an attractive method.
