The demand for help with sexual problems is increasing, but it is difficult to obtain basic data about the incidence of certain disorders and the characteristics of those patients who do present. This paper presents relevant data from referrals to a regional psychiatric service. Greater awareness of the nature of the demand may provide assistance to those engaged in the training of personnel who will be required to deal with such problems.
