Abstract
Pulmonary artery calcification detected radiologically is invariably associated with the Eisenmenger Syndrome. Its appearance is relatively uncommon and 4 further cases are described. It is suggested that the relative rarity of the cases of pulmonary artery calcification in this syndrome is due to the fact that the majority of patients die before the age of 40 years.
If there is associated calcification in the arch of the aorta the reversed shunt is likely to be at ductus level. If such calcification is absent from the aorta the shunt is more likely to be at ventricular or atrial level.
