Four hundred and twenty cases of ovarian carcinoma, treated over an 8-year period, are reviewed.
Except for 26, they were treated initially by surgery. Two hundred and fourteen cases had further treatment by irradiation and 68 by chemotherapy. It appears that in Stage 2 and Stage 3 cases, the 5-year survival rate is improved by post operative irradiation.
The difficulties of staging the disease are discussed and simplification recommended.
