Abstract
This article will begin with an overview of the historical development of pedagogical methods, especially as they relate to approaches referred to as “information-processing” and to religious instruction. The next step will be to briefly explore how the nature of Biblical content has shaped (and still shapes) pedagogy. Finally, contemporary pedagogical options will be briefly considered with a focus on the reasons, approaches, and applications for and by which the most essential goal is transmission of information about the Biblical text.
