A socialization scale, based on the Taxonomy of Educational Objectives: Affective Domain, was given to 84 hospitalized, mentally ill Ss. Results upheld the taxonomic principle: unless adequate Receiving was present in the social repertoire, little Responding was evinced; unless adequate Receiving and Responding were present, Valuing tended not to appear.
