Abstract
Groups of college age males, chosen to show variability in drug experience, were given a rating form to assess personal drug experience and scales designed to measure favorability to users of non-opiate drugs. Group drug experience and public labeling as drug prone was directly related to favorability to drug users. Individual use of drugs was directly related to favorability to drug users except at the highest level of personal use where favorability showed a significant decline. Possible research uses of the Substance Abuse Scales are discussed.
