Abstract
We publish below a reply by Sir Philip Margetson, formerly Assistant Commissioner at Scotland Yard, to “Observer's” highly controversial “Open Letter to the Police Service” in our last issue. The opinions expressed in that article were those of the contributor and this is, of course, the case in all articles published, but we do not, in particular, agree with “Observer's” views on private security organizations and we are glad of this opportunity to dissociate ourselves from them.
