Abstract
The work of the Road Research Laboratory is of outstanding interest to police officers, who look to it as an ally in the war against traffic accidents. One of our Correspondents was present when the Press was shown over the new Research Track at Crowthorne, Berks., and had an opportunity of seeing it in operation. On that occasion, Sir William Glanville, Director of the Laboratory, spoke of the uniqueness of the track and of the uses which are to be made of it. Among these are the study ofthe problem of safety at high speed, vehicle behaviour, especially when using different breaking systems on different surfaces, the study of controlled crashes, and investigations of driving skill.
