Abstract
The killing of Miss Sydney Stephanie Baird at a Y.W.C.A. hostel in Birmingham last December was the subject of an inquiry which was followed with intense interest by the entire Police Service. We are proud to publish the following account of a modern classic of investigation, written by the officer in charge of the case.
