Abstract

Few professions involve the intense interpersonal dynamics that teachers engage in every day, observes Rafael Heller. Teachers must not only navigate relationships with dozens of students, each with their own needs, but also manage students’ relationships with each other, while interacting regularly with colleagues, parents, and community members. The authors in the February 2022 Kappan consider how to approach these relationships with care.
