Abstract
Americans are uncomfortable with immigrants in the same way they are uncomfortable with people who may be citizens but are still different from them — a difference of religion or color, for example. Only by first acknowledging the discomfort these differences calls up in each of is will we make the first step toward change and accepting and resolving our differences.
