22 Ss were tested for toleration time of isolation by immersion. The intercorrelations on 12 tests were compared for the toleration time extremes. It appears that each of the two extreme groups of 6 Ss is internally homogeneous but unlike the other. Thus it appears that some stable individual difference factor distinguishes the high- and low-isolation tolerator.
