The high incidence of nematode or roundworm parasites is a major problem to modern sheep farmers and a serious obstacle to the expansion of the industry. This article reviews modern techniques for the control of gastro-intestinal parasites, based partly on understanding of the life-cycles of the two principal organisms involved and partly on the use of synthetic anti-parasitic drugs introduced during the last ten years.
