Abstract
Practical experience with the direct drilling of winter-sown cereals and oilseed rape on three Cotswold soils—varying from a limestone brash to a poorly-structured clay soil—has shown that it is a satisfactory technique which allows the rapid drilling of large areas of crops, and the maintenance of high yields, without giving any particular problems in weed or disease control.
