In the developed countries the sentimental approach to wildlife is slowly yielding to a more rational attitude. This is perhaps due primarily to the injection of realism by ecologists into their wildlife investigations and secondly to the lively presentation of their work and results by television and the popular press. That management of wildlife resources means more than tourism and home entertainment is shown by this account of investigations in the Serengeti National Park.
