The present article establishes a link with “Outlook” Vol. III, to the first number of which Dr. Sen, Director-General of F.A.O., contributed a foreword. The steps taken to initiate trial and demonstration work in selected developing countries are now described. If subsistence agriculture is to be rapidly transformed, greater use must be made of fertilizers, and certain distribution and marketing difficulties must be overcome.
