Many countries in which average diets are short of protein, especially animal protein, could learn much from the way in which Israel has successfully mastered the same problem by rapidly expanding and rationalizing her poultry industry. She has not been alone in this advance. With domestic demand satisfied, Israel must now give attention to the competitive disposal of surpluses, which will demand close scrutiny of production costs.
