Early in the 1950s it became the aim of government policy in Britain to achieve a more economically efficient agriculture, and farm management was developed into a service of practical use to farmers. Its methods are now being increasingly applied by specialist officers in solving the economic problems involved in the reorganization of the farm business and in helping farmers to use their land, labour and capital to best advantage.
