Abstract
Animal diseases that can be controlled or eradicated still afflict the underdeveloped countries, threatening the livelihood of all who depend on cattle for food and farm power and sometimes causing national disaster. Much can be done to help. The basic task is to apply our knowledge of livestock husbandry at village level; its fulfilment will demand much money and material as well as patience and sacrifice from those who carry it out.
