Abstract
Results of the world's fertilizer experiments on sugar cane, summarized in this paper, show that yields can be greatly increased in all countries and on all soil types by applying the right fertilizers in adequate amounts at the right times. Yet dressings are usually much less than the recommended amounts, especially on smallholdings, and there is still need for more research on many aspects of manuring even on progressive estates.
