Abstract
Since 1945 several important international and regional agreements have been made on such broad aspects of plant protection as quarantine regulations and the provision of mutual aid in dealing with certain destructive pests and pathogens. These achievements are discussed in this paper, which is a shortened form of a conference address. A full account is published in Plant Protection Conference, 1956, reviewed on page 213 of this issue.
