Abstract
Cacao has been described as a crop with a bright future largely because the demand for cocoa and chocolate continues to rise and prices have so far been very profitable. But serious diseases keep yields low and menace the prosperity of communities that depend on the crop for a livelihood. It is suggested here that cacao diseases can be controlled by the ordinary methods of plant pathology if adequate research is given to the problem.
