Abstract
In Britain and other progressive countries striking improvements in animal health have followed recent advances in therapy, better veterinary services, and efficient legislation. Many infections that were looked upon as important not very long ago have been well controlled, lesser troubles have become of relatively greater concern as these declined, and science is at last gaining the upper hand in the unending struggle against disease.
