Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to show how tele-photography may be used to allow for the speedy transmission of a wide variety of ante mortem data from its point of collection to the DVI personnel at the ID centre. It demonstrates a means of transmitting precise, detailed information of use for identification by dental and medical teams. In particular the procedure offers major advantages; the reduction in the hitherto unavoidable time lapse following collection of ante mortem information; the ability to transmit radiographs without loss of definition or diagnostic detail; and the ability to send forward detailed AM information without the necessity to transcribe or encode material prior to transmission.
