The mineral content of subtilisin Carlsberg and an associated buffer reagent was established by the application of spark source mass spectrometry and atomic absorption spectrometry. The concentrations of the elements detected were too low to contaminate tissue samples that form the bulk of toxicological work in a forensic laboratory.
