The current legal provisions relating to criminal liability for complicity in the suicide of another person are summarized. The application of these provisions during the decade 1961–70 is reviewed, based on data extracted from the files of persons prosecuted, which are held by the Director of Public Prosecutions. The role of these statutory provisions and the need for possible modifications are discussed.
