The Identification of Mutilated and Decomposed Bodies (With Special Reference to Air Crash Victims)

Abstract

During the war a number of prisoners were shot by the Germans and buried in communal graves. The identification of the bodies was a matter of some importance for the subsequent war crime trials that took place. The methods of identification then used are of considerable assistance in identifying the victims of air crashes.
