The present study was an attempt to check the usefulness of the terminal juncture as a means of segmenting a linguistic corpus. Of importance are scorer agreement as to the occurrence of both juncture and hesitation phenomena, and consistency in perception of both types of phenomena. The perception of the pitch contour accompanying a terminal juncture is also examined.
