An exploratory study of the factorial structure of concepts in “semantic space”. A principal components analysis was performed on 80 concepts, using ratings across 20 semantic differential scales, and components rotated to simple structure. The analysis yielded 6 factors, which appear to represent independent dimensions of denotative meaning.
