Abstract

As part of its new strategic plan, ECLAM is increasing its outreach to prospective residents, current residents and Diplomates of the college through a series of online events. These will take place from September 2020 to May 2021 and will be open to all ESLAV and ECLAM members upon registration. The series is a follow-up to the informal monthly e-coffees of ECLAM Diplomates that took place in the first half of 2020.
These one-hour events will provide news from ECLAM on a regular basis, insight and practical information about alternate and standard residency programmes, ECLAM supervision and the new online mock exam. They will also address topics such as legislation, ethics, the role of the veterinarian in the animal welfare bodies across Europe and the emotional cost of caring. Each event will allow ample opportunity for questions and discussion.
The goals are to facilitate networking, offer brief educational opportunities, highlight the work of our residents, supervisors and Diplomates, and ultimately develop a cohesive, collegial, supportive online community in laboratory animal medicine across Europe. Please watch our website (ECLAM.eu) for information about the series.
