Abstract

The 14th FELASA Congress takes place on 10–13 June 2019. The comprehensive scientific programme was developed with the help of a few associations that we would like to thank for their support.
– Laboratory Animals Limited [LAL] organises a full day on ‘Animal Research Reporting’. – EFPIA sponsors a session on ‘Culture of Care’. – SGV sponsors sessions on reproducibility, rodent euthanasia and some education events. – A ‘Tech Day’ dedicated to animal technicians and carers and translated into Czech, German and French will see speakers from AFSTAL, EFAT, GV-SOLAS IGTP, IAT and Scand-LAS. At the end of each of the four sessions, a quiz will allow to select the attendees who deserve some surprise presents sponsored by Uno BV, Aston Pharma, Datesand, IPS, LBS, Plexx, Scanbur, and Tecniplast UK. – AAALAC sponsors a session on ‘Culture of Care’. – The RSPCA sponsors sessions on severe suffering. – ESLAV and ECLAM sponsor a session on humane endpoints. – ISTT sponsors sessions on management of genetically altered animals. – ZHA sponsors a session on zebrafish.
FELASA would also like to thank ESLAV for its offer, as a gift for FELASA’s 40th Anniversary, to support three free webinars. The recordings of these webinars are now available. Please check FELASA website www.felasa.eu for further info. The three webinars cover the following topics:
– ‘Accrediting your course according to FELASA standards - Worth the time and money?’ by Marcel Gyger; – ‘Refining the life experience of a research zebrafish’ by Claire Allen; – ‘Experimental design and the avoidance of unnecessary suffering’ by Manuel Berdoy.
FELASA would also like to thank the webinar presenters for their time and dedication.
And a thank you to all who attend and support FELASA’s 14th Congress.
