Uma iniciativa
A 18 de Outubro de 2016 realiza-se no i3S - Universidade do Porto um simpósio nacional de Órgãos Responsáveis pelo Bem-Estar dos Animais (ORBEA) usados em investigação científica.
A Directiva 2010/63/EU - transposta para a legislação nacional pelo DL 113/2013 – estabelece a obrigatoriedade de todos os estabelecimentos públicos e privados onde são criados e/ou utilizados animais para fins científicos ou educacionais terem um ORBEA, cuja constituição está regulada em Portugal pelo Despacho 2880/2015. Cabe ao ORBEA, entre outras atribuições, desempenhar as funções de aconselhamento, acompanhamento e avaliação de projectos que envolvam o uso de animais e promover a implementação dos 3Rs.

Que actualmente são membros de ORBEA em instituições públicas ou privadas Que neste momento estejam a fundar um órgão desta natureza nas suas instituições Que não pertencendo a um ORBEA, têm responsabilidades ao nível do uso de animais para fins científicos e educacionais e pretendam constituir um ORBEA

Portuguese AWB (ORBEA) Symposium

On October 18th a symposium for members of Portuguese animal welfare bodies (Órgãos Responsáveis pelo Bem-Estar dos Animais – ORBEA) will be held at the i3s–University of Porto.
The Decreto-lei 113/2013, the Portuguese transposition of Directive 2010/63/EU, establishes that every public and private establishment where animals are bred or used for scientific or educational purposes must have an ORBEA in place, further regulated by Despacho 2880/2015. It is up to the ORBEA, among other things, to advise, supervise and evaluate animal research projects and promote the implementation of the 3Rs.
This symposium is aimed at all professionals that:
are currently members of ORBEA in public or private institutions are currently starting an ORBEA in their institutions do not yet sit in a ORBEA, but have duties and responsibilities regarding the use of animals for scientific and educational purposes and wish to form a ORBEA

We also intend with this event to give start to a national network of ORBEAS, that could later join the European network that is currently being founded.
