Abstract
Robert H. Beck, professor of history and philosophy of education at the University of Minnesota, has a bachelor of arts degree from Harvard and a Ph.D. from Yale.
Profesor Beck has taught at the Univer sity of Kansas City, Missouri; Rochester University; the University of Texas; the University of Southern California; and the University of British Columbia. He is a past president of the Philosophy of Educa tion Society and is at present chairman of the Editorial Advisory Board, Journal of Teacher Education.
